Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian islands. The main towns (besides the capital town of Argostoli) are Sami, Lixouri and Fiscardo. Inland the island is mountainous and the coasts are scattered with wonderful beaches of blue and turquoise colour. The beach of Myrtos is renowned as one of the most beautiful beaches of Greece.
How to get there
By airplane : there are daily flights from Athens. By ferry : from Brindisi, on the Italian coast (in the summer only) and from Patras. There are also good connections with the islands of Lefkas, Ithaka and Zakinthos.
